recipe:

  • 1/2 cup traditional rolled oats
  • 1 cup water (or alternatively, you can use 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken stock and 1/2 cup water for more flavour)
  • 1-2 tsp soy sauce
  • toppings: fried shallots, green onion, poached egg, sesame oil, chilli crisp

method:

  1. Cook oats to desired texture by bringing to a boil on the stove and cooking for 3-5 minutes. Alternatively, place in the microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, then remove and stir. Place in the microwave on HIGH for another 2 minutes.
  2. Add toppings.
  3. You’re done!
